Coles Collection Listening Station: Join us at the Howard Coles Listening Station to hear powerful broadcasts from Rochester activist, publisher, author, historian, and radio personality Howard Coles. Then, create your own newspaper inspired by his publications!

Cornelius Eady’s Poetry Corner (Pat Hale Gallery): Try your hand at writing poetry inspired by local poet Cornelius Eady.

“A More Perfect Likeness” (2nd Floor Windows)- Build your own pinhole camera like the kind that photographed Frederick Douglass in the 19th century.

Red, Black, and Green (Lobby): Discover the symbolism behind the Pan-African flag and create your own bookmark using its distinct colors.

Dr. Juanita Pitts’ Mobile Health Unit (Pat Hale Gallery): Investigate your pulse and learn about the incredibly powerful muscle that is your heart.

Take off with Dorothy Layne McIntyre (3rd floor, outside astronaut): Create a propeller to learn about the forces of lift and thrust.

Harriet Tubman Naturalist School (Expedition Earth): Test out your knowledge of medicinal plants and their uses to gain an understanding of how Harriet Tubman functioned as a naturalist in the Underground Railroad.
