2024 Rochester Juneteenth Festival

June 15 @ 10:00 am - 8:00 pm

Free

The Greater Rochester Martin Luther King Jr. Commission presents the annual Juneteenth Festival on June 15, 2024, at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, 353 Court Street, Rochester, NY.

The festivities kick off with a parade at 10:00 a.m. at Chestnut and Broad Streets, followed by the Elder’s Circle at 11:00 a.m. at The Strong National Museum of Play. The festival runs from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., offering a day packed with free activities and events for all.

Join us as we mark a decade of celebrating freedom and liberty for the African American community in our city. Last year, the festival drew over 4,000 attendees, and this year’s theme, “From 1964 to 2024: 60 Years in the Fight for Justice in Rochester,” underscores our ongoing commitment to justice and equality.

Cherri Hawkins, festival event coordinator, shares, “For the past decade, the Greater Rochester Martin Luther King Jr. Commission has organized the Juneteenth festival to commemorate the celebration of Juneteenth with a family-fun event that highlights African American culture. We invite the community to enjoy a day filled with the arts, cuisines, and activities that span across the unique and rich diaspora of African Americans.”
