SUMMARY:50+ Speed Friending with Little Button Craft @ ARTISANworks
DESCRIPTION:Making friends as an adult—especially once you’re over 50—can be surprisingly difficult. That’s where Speed Friending comes in! This event at ARTISANworks is designed to make meeting new people easier in a relaxed\, low-pressure environment.\nAnd no\, this isn’t speed dating—it’s speed friending.\nParticipants will rotate through a series of guided conversations at small tables. To help break the ice\, everyone will receive a coloring sheet to work on during the event\, which helps take some of the pressure off those first introductions. The event includes three rounds of conversation with two prompts per round:\nRound 1: 5 minutes per question\nRound 2: 10 minutes per question\nRound 3: 15 minutes per question\nBetween rounds\, guests will swap seats when possible so you’ll have the opportunity to talk with several different people throughout the afternoon. You’ll also receive a contact card where you can share your information (phone number\, Instagram\, etc.) along with what you’re open to—friendship\, casual connection\, or something more. This way\, you can exchange details comfortably without the awkward moment of someone suddenly handing you their phone.\nWhether you’re new to the area\, looking to expand your social circle\, or simply open to meeting new people\, Speed Friending offers a fun and welcoming way to connect.

SUMMARY:Free Breast Cancer Screenings for the uninsured - FLX Cancer Services Program
DESCRIPTION:Breast Cancer Screening \nBreast cancer screening includes self-breast exam\, clinical breast exam\, and mammogram. The most current guidelines from the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force suggest women ages 50 to 74 years old should have a screening mammogram every two years. Women ages 40–49 years old are encouraged to talk to their healthcare providers about when and how often they should have screening mammograms. A woman who has a high risk for breast cancer\, as determined by a health care provider\, may need to begin screening earlier. \nThe Cancer Services Program of the Finger Lakes Region covers annual clinical breast exams\, mammograms\, pelvic exams and pap tests for uninsured women 40 and older who live in Monroe\, Livingston\, Ontario\, Yates\, Wayne and Seneca Counties. Mammograms are sometimes covered for younger women based on family or personal history. Men identified with symptoms which may indicate breast cancer can receive diagnosis through the program. \nFree Screening Events\nmobile mammography van If you have a family history\, or have concerns about your risk\, we encourage you to take advantage of these free screening events. Research has shown that African American women are 42 percent more likely to die from breast cancer than white women. African American women are more likely to present with a cancer diagnosis in ages younger than 40 and with more advanced stage breast cancer.
